Our Home

There are twenty private rooms in all and each has a distinctively different feel, due in part to the original Georgian features and residents are free to bring their own furniture and add personal touches. Yet common to all rooms are en-suite facilities, colour television, individual call bell alarm, telephone point, internet access, reliable Wi-Fi, door lock, and a secure lockable storage facility. If your choice of room isn’t available, as a resident you’ll be given first choice when a vacancy does arise.

“Their GP called Cornelius House the Rolls-Royce of care homes and I have to agree.”

Meet our staff

Qualified, compassionate and approachable, the core staff have stayed with us over the years, which gives residents a sense of stability and continuity of care.

Our Manager, Anna Paterson has worked in learning disabilities, dementia, care homes and Home Care. It was the experience of nursing her grandmother through terminal illness that first inspired her. Supporting Anna, is our Care Manager, Pam, who has been here for twenty- seven years. Qualified in Business Management for Carers (NVQ4) she also holds the Registered Managers’ Award.

Jill has been handling administration and running the office since 2004. Andrew is our Facilities Manager and Bernard keeps the grounds immaculate, and the larder well stocked. Paul and Glyn are our Chefs who keep the residents well fed with their legendary Hot Pot and Cup Cakes.

And then there’s small army of carers who look after our residents around the clock, like Julie and Jeanette who have been with us since 1991.
